Discovery trip to the Hornstrandir Peninsula
Starting from Ísafjörður, a small fishing village, the Hornstrandir Peninsula is located in the West Fjords region and is a dream destination for hikers, with numerous villages, natural hot springs, perfect fishing spots, coastlines to explore by kayak and beautiful mountains to climb.
Birdwatchers (more than 50 species) and photography enthusiasts will be in their element. The Hornstrandir Nature Reserve is a haven of peace for flora and fauna. You can also see seals and whales and, with a little luck, Arctic foxes.
At this time of year, the sun never sets, so you’ll have plenty of time to explore.
These trips must be organised in consultation with the KAMAK skippers, who will advise you on what is feasible in terms of navigation and access. They are offered without a guide and require a certain amount of initiative, but this only adds to the unique and personal experience.
